Trillion Dollar Spaghetti Recipe
Yesterday, I tagged a recipe for Million Dollar Spaghetti on Pinterest. I have learned to check the links before pinning because many are broken or lead you to a blog main page instead of the actual entry. Today, I read the recipe in depth and read several reviews on the website. Most of the people that had actually made it suggested improvements to the recipe. I made several of mine own and began cooking. Since I improved on the recipe, I thought it deserved a new name.
- 16 oz. pkg. thin spaghetti noodles
- 1 lbs. ground beef
- salt and pepper
- 1 tsp. minced green pepper
- 1/3 c chopped onion
- 1 jar prepared spaghetti sauce
- 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1/4 c. sour cream
- 8 oz. cottage cheese
- 2 tsp. melted butter
- 8 oz parmesan cheese, grated
Cook the spaghetti noodles as directed. Brown the ground beef, season with salt and pepper. While the beef is browning add the bell pepper and onion to sauté. Drain off the grease once it is browned. Add the spaghetti sauce and the tomato sauce as well as a pinch of italian season to the ground beef and simmer.
Combine the cream cheese, sour cream and cottage cheese.
Layer the noodles, cheese mixture and meat sauce mixture in a 9x12 glass dish. Begin with the 1/2 noodles, top with 1/2 cheese mixture and then 1/2 the meat sauce. Repeat a second time, but top second layer of noodles with melted butter. End with the meat sauce.
Top with parmesan cheese
Back at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
