First Sewing Project and a Bun
I do not know if I have the patience to endure helping my impatient daughter learn to sew (I am sure my mom and grandmother said the same about me). She is not tall enough to reach the pedal so we have brought in her step stool to raise it up a bit. Another problem seems to be she cannot control the amount of pressure she applies to the pedal-she weighs about 43 lbs (big stuff). I have been teaching an older child to sew and she will not be out done by anyone. She is also a PERFECTIONIST (cannot imagine where she learned such).
While we are enjoying a little lazy time I have decided to tackle the bun-hair bun. Last fall my daughter participated in a community production of the Nutcracker. Somehow faked my way through the mandatory bun she had to wear to every practice and performance. I finally learned to put it in a ponytail and wrap cheap hairnets around it until I could secure it with bobby pins. Just yesterday discovered an online tutorial for the braided bun. I must say it looks pretty good. My daughter must like it because she made a request to wear it in this style to every Nutcracker practice and performance this coming fall.
