Catching Up

The last month has been crazy and I have only posted about once a week.  We have been so busy starting back to school, back to dance class, back to church choir and kicking off football season.  It has been really fun, but we are exhausted.  Thank goodness for a three day weekend to celebrate all of our laboring.  My parents have come for a short visit.  We are looking forward to visiting with them and putting my Daddy to work.  He always has a to-do list at our house due to his technical skills.  My mother is becoming a master couponer and will share her latest deals with me.

My daughter and I attended the cutest Mad Hatter Tea Party/Birthday.  The birthday girl's family made it a really fun time for all involved.  We painted roses, marched in a mother/daughter parade, shared tea and yummies with friends, listened to tunes from the Mad Hatter (he played the trumpet), and played some croquet on the lawn.   I tried out my millinery skills when I took apart a cardboard New Year's party hat to craft our own version of a prissy mad hat to match the party dress.

We played at the Pond.  As football season gets started the boys must polish their skills, but only after a great swim.

We've tailgated.  The food is delicious, but after three straight days of tailgating food I'm ready for good ole home cooking.

My favorite Tailgating Cheese Ring Recipe

1 1b.  grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
3/4 cup mayonnaise
dash of tabasco
1 small onion, grated
1 clove of garlic, minced
Strawberry preserves

Combine first six ingredients.  Chill and mold into ring or desired shape.  If you make a ring fill it w/strawberry preserves.  For other shapes serve preserves on the side.  Serve with Ritz cracker.

We've cheered.  There is nothing better than Georgia football in this boy's eyes.

My Twins!
I sewed and sewed and sewed.  I must  have lost my mind when I decided I could make one for the doll.  Now Miss Priss wants an outfit for the doll to match everything I make for her.

Time to settle down and take it easy.  The weather has finally started cooling off and we look forward to spending time outside.  Maybe I'll be inspired to serve a few dinners on the patio.
