An End to Summer
Labor Day marks the end of summer for most of us. I'm sad to see the hot, lazy days of summer go, but I can't wait for the cool fall days leading up to the holidays. This weekend my family spent the last summer weekend at the family get away. My children and their cousins had the best time riding the golf cart, canoing, riding tricycles, swimming and riding on the trailer to the river. My father-in-law even set up a tent w/a camo tarp backdrop (sho-nuff redneck) for the TV so the grown ups could watch the first weekend of SEC football outside. During the weekend we enjoyed boiled peanuts, spinach dip, pimento cheese, homemade rolls, BBQ and ribs.
I've seen the real signs of fall this weekend. All of the stores have fall and Halloween decorations out. The grocery stores and nurseries have started selling mums. Excited about a great fall!
