My guys just finished explaining how teams are chosen for the BCS bowl games. In a nutshell, we were robbed. Even the coach from the team we played last night agreed. Everyone knows SEC has the toughest schedule and has the best following. Bowl sponsors must be upset because some teams playing in the "big games" just do not have a following. Dedicating this post to my favorite sports nuts-Matt and Ev.

Last night my daughter's dance company kicked off the annual holiday shopping season at our community's annual Bustlin on Broad. This event takes place each Thursday leading up to Christmas. The photo below is my daughter's competition group. These little girls have been dance together for several years-we love these girls as well as their families. During competition season we spend more time together than we spend at home. This month we take it easy because for the first four months of the year we will devote countless hours to competition as well as the recital. Next week the local children's choirs from the churches will entertain people as they shop. I just love this season.

My daughter and I recently visited our favorite jewelry store. We discovered Lauren G Adams jewelry. I love the stackable bracelets while my daughter loves the Gabriella Beads (similar to Pandora, but more youthful) and charm bracelets. I found that not many jewelers carry this line-call customer service on the website (www.laurengadams.com) if you have problems.

We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving with our families. As usual, we gathered at the Pond with my hubby's family. We enjoyed the traditional meal as well as the annual hayride to the river. The day also allowed us to get one photo of the cousins with every child facing the camera. We have great stories of family photo sessions.

The weekend allowed us time to spend with my family at the beautiful Cuscowilla at Lake Oconee. This resort is terrific for golfers. The highlight of the trip was my daughter telling jokes from her Corny Joke Book (American Federation of the Blind). It will truly enhance any gathering of friends or family. I am not sure how you go about purchasing a copy, but it is good clean laughs for the family. My sister and her husband joked about finding more books to gift us-I can't wait!

I know you love Pinterest as much as me.  Several of the recipes I have pinned and tried have turned out great.  From time to time I pin a dead link, but I have been successful for the most part.  A few friends have told me horror stories of their attempts to perfect their pins.  A close family friend attempted a science experiment with my kids and it was a bomb as well as a waste of money.  After Googling it we realized it was a hoax.

I have come across two great blogs related to Pinterest- just love them.  Check out Pinterest Told Me To  and Pinstrosity .  Pinterest Told Me To allows the reader to see how one makes those outfit ideas from Pinterest work with what you have.  Pinstrosity pokes fun at all of those Pinterest projects we have tried and failed.  My favorite has to be cleaning your dishwasher with vinegar and baking soda- overflow of suds.

Happy Pinning!

Trillion Dollar Spaghetti Recipe
Yesterday, I tagged a recipe for Million Dollar Spaghetti on Pinterest.  I have learned to check the links before pinning because many are broken or lead you to a blog main page instead of the actual entry.  Today, I  read the recipe in depth and read several reviews on the website.  Most of the people that had actually made it suggested improvements to the recipe.  I made several of mine own and began cooking.  Since I improved on the recipe, I thought it deserved a new name.

  • 16 oz. pkg. thin spaghetti noodles
  • 1 lbs. ground beef
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp. minced green pepper
  • 1/3 c chopped onion
  • 1 jar prepared spaghetti sauce
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/4 c. sour cream
  • 8 oz. cottage cheese
  • 2 tsp. melted butter
  • 8 oz parmesan cheese, grated
Cook the spaghetti noodles as directed.  Brown the ground beef, season with salt and pepper.  While the beef is browning add the bell pepper and onion to sauté.  Drain off the grease once it is browned.  Add the spaghetti sauce and the tomato sauce as well as a pinch of italian season to the ground beef and simmer.

Combine the cream cheese, sour cream and cottage cheese.

Layer the noodles, cheese mixture and meat sauce mixture in a 9x12 glass dish.  Begin with the 1/2 noodles, top with 1/2 cheese mixture  and then  1/2 the meat sauce.  Repeat a second time, but top second layer of noodles with melted butter.  End with the meat sauce.

Top with parmesan cheese

Back at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
